I should be working. I have work to do. But I can't resist the meme!

- Bold all of the following TV shows of which you've seen 3 or more episodes.
- Italicize a show if you're positive you've seen every episode.
- Asterisk if you have at least one full season on tape or DVD

*tap tap tap* Is this thing on?

1. Yes, it's actually me.
2. No I wasn't kidnapped by wild monkeys and held captive in a banana factory.
3. Yes I've been a very very very bad ljer and friend and for that I am deeply sorry.
4. No I can't promise that I'll be around more often but do I promise to try.
5. Um, I don't have anything for this one. *g*

Sheesh, where to begin? It's been 3 1/2 months since I last posted here and certainly a lot has happened since then. Some good, a lot of bad and some so-so. On the good side, I've got a job again. It's working at a call center, so that places it also on the so-so side but at least it's money right? Grandma Litz was out here in February/March for a visit so that's another check for the good side. Unfortunately part of that time I was sick with a sinus infection. Spent St. Paddy's Day with theresa_boo and others and had a fabulous time. Also got to finally meet belicat in person. Yay! She and her husband(who has the most beautiful English accent) are adorable together. Very lovely people. Also helped T surprise her boy B with a surprise bday dinner at a wonderful german restaurant/bar. Das Boot! Unfortunately the next day would certainly qualify as a bad one. Mom and Dad were out of town in the Keys for the weekend and Josh... well Josh was Josh. Long story short, he got drunk, took medication he shouldn't have, broke into Mom and Dads room and drove Dads Miata again. No one was hurt or injured(except the car...again) thank goodness. Mom and Dad came home early and a few days later Josh was taken to a detox center by two deputies. Not a stellar week in our house. Several days later he was home again and entered a day program at a fairly new rehab center. This week is his last week. Things are... better but I'm not holding my breath. Meanwhile, we're also dealing with a scare with Moms health. It basically boils down to there being a small amount of cancer in her one remaining breast. She's meeting with the plastic surgeon on the 24th to discuss a mastecotomy and reconstruction surgery.

Throughout all this I've been trying to deal with my own depression and...well, sometimes doing really well and other times just flat out hiding from the world. Which is why I haven't been on LJ in 3 1/2 months. I'm still dealing and have started looking at finding a better ie. real job but it's tough. There are lots of nights where I just come home, eat dinner and then veg in my room. I know Mom and Dad are worried but I've just got to deal with everything in my own way. But things are getting better. I've started taking swing dance classes at my church. Mostly older couples but it's been a lot of fun and great exercise. And of course, hanging out with friends when we can.

So that's it really. Like I said above, I'm going to try to be around more often. Unfortunately we're not allowed to be on the internet at work so that leaves only the evening time. But I will be around more. I promise.

Oh crap. I've just realized that this also means that I've got to try to wade through 3 1/2 months of my flist. *headdesk* Help a girl out and recap the highlights in a comment? *smooches*

Oh I really like #5. Hee!

Another year begins

First off? It's FREEZING in the office today.

Well, so far the new year has started off on a so-so level. NYE was great. I hung out with theresaboo, her boy, my brother Jeremy and sister-in-law and a few other people. We all just hung out, drank, played some games(once again, I PWN all at Trivial Pursuit: The 90's). Josh was there but went home early. Mom and Dad picked him up. Whatever. He was social which is an improvement. But we'll see how long that good behavior lasts now that both Mom and Dad are both back at work this week. Let's just say that I'm not gonna hold my breath.

Anyways, a good time was had by all I think NYE. And hey! I didn't wake up with a hangover. Score! I did however have a nasty headache later in the day. *pouts* Nebraska lost their bowl game. USC won! WOOHOO!! There's already talk of them being #1 in the pre-season polls next year. They really played a great game. Which makes their loss to UCLA just that much more painful. But whatever. It happens. They still won their conference and won the Rose Bowl. I'm a happy girl. :) Now if Jarrett would just return next year. *crosses fingers*

I haven't talked to Mom and Dad about the whole bday/xmas gift fiasco yet. I will. I just need to distance myself a bit more from the hurt feelings before talking to them about it. If I don't, I'll just blubber my way through it and I don't want to do that. But a great big HUGE thank you to all of you who commented with hugs and/or anger on my behalf. It was appreciated more than you'll ever know. And to stop_no_dont, I got your vmail. I'm sorry I didn't call back. I wasn't in the most talkative mood. But thank you. *hugs*

And it's lunch time so I'm off. I'll try to update some more this afternoon.

Well, I'm safe and sound in Nebraska...if not a little cold. Flight got in just fine yesterday. Then had to wait three hours for the shuttle to leave but at least I was nice and warm inside the airport. We had one of my favorite cold weather meals for dinner when I got to my grandmas. It's so great to be here again. Mom and I have already made one batch of crumb-cake this morning and we'll make some peanut brittle and peanut butter fudge this afternoon. I already got one of my birthday gifts from grandma and my uncle...a massage! Yes! Feel so much better now.

The only internet access I'll have is at the library. *wails* And we're only allowed 30 minute intervals so I've gotta keep this short.

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!!

*hugs flist*
To my fellow Central Floridians...did any of you hear about a police stand-off that happened yesterday? Apparently it was going on in my old apartment complex. I can't find anything on it though online.

Office holiday luncheon is today. And I think they're letting us go home afterwards. Yay!! I have much to do since I'll be tied up at the salon tomorrow for a good 2 hours. Getting my color touched up and a new cut. theresaboo, I think I'm gonna go with that first cut we saw...not the bob, the other one.

Tomorrow night is Jeremy and Andrea's open house. We'll probably get there early to help finish setting things up...and then probably be there until the end. I'm even thinking of bringing along an overnight bag and maybe crashing in their guest room. Don't know though yet. I've got a TON of stuff to get done on Sunday...laundry, cleaning, packing, etc. Just five more days(counting today) and I'll be in Nebraska. I have never looked forward to going there quite as much as I have this trip. I just want to see my Mom and talk with her. I think that's been the hardest part about the last few months, not having my Mom right there to talk to. 5 more days though and I'll be with her.

I still have peanut brittles to send out. I've been so busy at work I haven't had a chance to package them up and get them out in the mail. Today. I promise.

Dec. 12th, 2006

Woke up this morning around 5:30 to Mom yelling at Dad to turn the news on. Now being a Southern Californian girl, the first thing that pops in to my mind is that there's been an earthquake in L.A.. Generally speaking, the really big ones have happened early in the morning and it's exactly the sort of occurrence that I would think would cause Mom to yell up the stairs for Dad to turn the tv on for.

I would be wrong though. This would be what was on the news.

In other news, we did more candy making last night. Although our list is finished, Nana's is most certainly NOT. And she just can't handle it all on her own. So we're helping her. It was like the candy factor episode in 'I Love Lucy'...only without the uniforms and silly looking hats. We got about 11 peanut brittles done and 7 more peanut butter fudges. We've still got more to make but I don't think we'll be doing them until Wednesday. Tonight we've got the graduation party for Andrea's brother James. He's graduating from UCF today.

Apartment/roommate search has commenced. Thus the rather dejected feeling I've got this morning. Everything is so damn expensive. However, in searching the Roommates.com website, I came across a listing from my old roommate. You know, perhaps if she finished painting the kitchen, fixed the broken cupboards and, oh I don't know, CLEANED she'd have found another roommate already. *g* Oh, and she's upped the rent.

Also? I <3 my coffee this morning.
